Thanks Russ. There *must* be something unique about the Structure View
document internally, but I haven’t taken the time to poke around in
there to see what it might be. It does have a minimal set of paragraph
and character styles as well as other named objects. It looks like it
might not have any table format definitions, which is fairly unique.
I’ve tried unlocking that document, and FM crashes .. it would be
interesting to full analyze that doc and see what’s in there that might
be of use .. it might be interesting to be able to make a document like
it that displays a tree view structure. hmm…

Scott,
This is what I do as well and I see your point. Perhaps you could
test for certain characters in the label, like a slash, colon, or
period? Might help rule out other valid docs. Wouldn’t be a
guarantee, though.

I am looking for an FrameMaker 8 developer to help me getting started
with porting my InDesign PlugIn to FrameMaker 8. I’m completely new to
FrameMaker and the skedule is tight.=20
What will be required is controlling FrameMaker( open, close, save,
….), exporting and importing structure and content, modifying
structure and content, and selection reporting. The plugin is driven
by an external client, with whom the plugin exchanges an xml file
(using COM) containing the commands and returning the results.=20
So if you are placed in Germany (best would be near Munich) and can
give me a quick start with FrameMaker 8 development in a sort of
hands-on sessions, please send me a mail. Start would be ASAP.=20
